….for January. February was rather a lost month for posting due to our “excitement” on the health front. Hopefully things are slowly getting back to normal.
So my Endomondo tracker doesn’t track my treadmill miles. Considering that is all I have been doing since the weather makes it inconvenient to go outside, to have an accurate count, I have to add all my workouts together.
So I did! My January total was 38.8 miles.
This is where my record keeping addiction comes in handy. I have a Fitbit too, but a) it totals every step I take into my daily miles and b) it doesn’t think I have gone very far on the treadmill. It tracks my steps, say 3000 for a walk on the ‘mill, but thinks I have only gone about a quarter-mile. Haven’t quite figured that out yet.
But I have my handwritten journal too, where I write down what I did and how I felt–Fitbit and Endomondo don’t know if it was hard, or if I was proud I accomplished it, or if I changed my workout based on time or feelings. That’s where I got my actual mileage.
Thank goodness for my Dad’s genes 🙂
Well, we can see the effects of the holidays on my exercise schedule! Although, my treadmill miles aren’t tracked and I did spend most of those 11 hours running on the treadmill, so I am not quite as disappointed as I could be. But I am looking forward to seeing if my January numbers rebounded 🙂
A bit late, but here are last month’s stats.
I was a bit depressed by the miles, until I realized that my tracker will track the time I am on the treadmill, but won’t calculate the miles while I am on there. So I went back and looked at my old-fashioned notebook.
Yes, I track everything. It’s my dad’s fault. As a farmer, he had notebooks upon 3-ring binders on what the weather was like, what he had in one field and what he moved to the next field and how well it all did, as well as how well it sold so he knew what to rotate, and what to grow again.
So it is not that surprising that I have my Misfit, which is on my arm to track my activity in general; my Endomondo app on my phone to specifically track when I ride, yoga, run, etc; and my notebook to track how far and how it felt when I exercise. Genetics!
Anyway, I found that I did 26.5 miles on the treadmill as well as the 9 miles outdoors. Not a bad month after all 🙂
Three more hours and just about a mile more this month 🙂
Am I the only one that is depressed how few calories are burned throughout the month? That is probably only 3 days worth of food I burned off!!! But I did do alot of walking 🙂 So grateful September gave us good weather and beautiful foliage.
