Sara is so right. Yoga doesn’t mean that you are rubber band flexible, it means you want to stretch. I have been doing it for nigh on 20 years, and I still have problems getting my shoulders straight and my heels on the floor in Downward Dog. I think I look more like a tent listing to the side than a downward facing dog.
Blogging is all about ‘neighborhood’ connections.
I have had the best time getting to know my fellow bloggers throughout Blogging 101. Yesterday our exercise was to suss out some new blogs and leave intelligent comments. Or at least a comment beyond “cool”. Today our job is to pick one of those blogs and write a post on why we picked that blog to leave a comment on. Here comes my disclaimer: most of the time I am a happy go lucky person. However, I am fiercely proud of our soldiers (note I said soldiers, not the military complex) and this post is a bit more serious than I usually do.
I run, that is something that has gradually come upon me. It fits many aspects of my personality; and helped me develop willpower. I have, however, been practicing Yoga for years. I haven’t been to a class (I think we have discussed my independant streak before) but I have a wide array of DVDs. From Denise Austin (yes, old school–I told you I have been doing this awhile) to Sara Ivanhoe, I have tried many. And my husband has been pressed into watching me to see if I have the form right.
